Larry,
As discussed with you on January 3, 2017, contact storm water accumulated inside a section of Phase I of the Rogers CCP
Landfill (8106‐INDUS). The contact storm water was released through an earthen berm, travelled down a landfill exit
ramp, flowed from the landfill into site sediment and/or collection basins, and discharged into Suck Creek from sediment
basin SB‐2. This event occurred on January 3, 2017. Attached you will find the notification letter submitted to the
NCDEQ Water Quality Regional Operations Section that contains a detailed description of the event, corrective action
measures taken, and calculated volume of discharge. Also attached are photos of the relevant areas at the
landfill. Samples taken from sediment basin SB‐2 and the Phase III Non‐Contact Sediment Basin are being analyzed and
the results will be forwarded to the Solid Waste Section once available. Please contact me if you have any questions or
need further information regarding this event.
Thanks,
