Dear Mr. King, 

The Solid Waste Section (Section) has reviewed the Phase 5 Expansion Design Hydrogeologic Study Work 
Plan (DIN 26079) submitted on your behalf by Garrett & Moore on April 25, 2016.  The Section approves 
this work plan.   

The work plan proposes the installation of ten (10) new Type II piezometers (B‐22, B‐23/‐23D, B‐24, B‐
25, B‐26, B‐27, B‐28/‐28D, B‐29) to further understand the hydrogeological conditions in the Phase 5 
expansion area.  These piezometers shall be installed in accordance with 15A NCAC Subchapter 2C.  
Piezometer B‐24 and existing piezometer PZ‐2S will be converted to monitoring wells MW‐9 and MW‐
10, respectively.  Submit well construction records (Form GW‐1b) and boring logs for each piezometer 
after the installation process is complete.
