Hi Elizabeth,

We are currently drafting the Design Hydrogeologic Study and Water Quality Monitoring Plan for a horizontal
expansion (proposed Ph. 3) at the Cleveland Co. Subtitle D Lined Landfill.
However, we are uncertain if Landfill Gas (LFG) migration monitoring probes are necessary since the vast
majority of the property is surrounded by water bodies which the SWS LFG Guidance Document correctly
indicates serve as effective hydraulic barriers to off-site migration. We propose the LFG Plan for Ph. 1,2 & 3
to include only quarterly monitoring of the 6 on-site structures. I've attached a site map showing the pertinent
information including streams that have recently been delineated and approved by the US corps of
Engineers. Please let us know if the SWS would consider approval of a LFG Plan without any probes/wells
and if not what specific areas would probes be required. Simply ask if you need any additional information.
