The Section does concur that Duke Energy may dispose of the 2 cubic yards of fly ash that has small amounts of non‐
asbestos insulation in it, in the Permit No. 3612‐INDUS‐2008, Duke Energy‐Allen Steam Station RAB Ash Landfill. The
Section recommends that when the permit is either modified or amended you consider adding CCR contaminated with
small volumes of C&D waste to your acceptable waste list.

Subject: Request to Receive Material at Allen RAB Ash Landfill (3612‐INDUS)
Larry,
As discussed, we have a small quantity (approximately 2 cubic yards) of material at Allen Steam Station that we would
like to dispose in the on‐site Allen RAB Ash Landfill (3612‐INDUS). The material is comprised of approximately 70% fly
ash and 30% insulation (non‐asbestos). With this email, I am seeking your concurrence that the Division approves of this
minor waste stream being disposed in the landfill.
If you have any further questions or need any additional information, please let me know…thanks & have a good one!
