ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
1-Facility has signage at entrance.Haction.as required information except for the permit number.Need to add permit number to existing sign .
2-Permit does not have Scrap Metal/White Goods listed.
Operations Plan does address both.
3-Site only has 1 certified operator.Charlie Rome -Certification expires March 12,2019.
4-Facility has good directional signs.
5-Solid Waste screening records available and up-to-date.
6-Wind-blown trash needs to be picked up daily.
7-Scrap tires are stored in enclosed trailers.
8-Yard waste area has some construction and demolition materials that needs to be removed.
9-Solid Waste scrap metal and white goods area was noted during an inspection conducted on,March 11th 2015 as being very large and needs to be
removed for recycling.It appears the pile of scrap metal and white goods has doubled in size.Need to store white goods that have refrigerants
separate from other scrap metal.store upright until the refrigerant is removed.Mark all white goods with paint or some kind of Mark that lets everyone
know the refrigerant has been removed.Due to the scrap metal pile being very large the county needs to start removing the metal for recycling to keep
it from getting any larger.
10-pesticide container building and recycle electronics buildings look really good.
11-Leachate is being managed well and has three storage tanks which are pumped on an as-needed basis.
12-Corrective measures need to be taken as a result of this Facility Compliance Inspection.
