The letter was submitted in response to correspondence from the Section dated August 8, 2016 (DIN 26562) requiring Johnston County to address inorganic constituent exceedances. In response to the inorganic groundwater exceedances at the landfill and in accordance with 15A NCAC 13B .1633, Johnston County will be conducting an Alternate Source Demonstration (ASD). In addition, Johnston County is requesting an extension to submit the ASD by February 8, 2017. As a result, the extension request is approved as described.
