Dear Mr. Lane,
On behalf of Iredell County, Municipal Engineering Services Company, P.A. (MESCO) intends to submit
an Alternative Source Demonstration (ASD) in fulfillment of the request outlined in a letter issued by the
NC Solid Waste Section (SWS) dated August 8, 2016 (DIN:26561). The ASD will address metals
detected in groundwater samples collected at the Iredell County Subtitle D Lined Municipal Solid Waste
Landfill MSWLF. We request an extension of the deadline beyond 90 days (November 6, 2016) so that
we may have time to determine if the lines of evidence we plan to present is acceptable to the SWS and in
doing so expedite the process. Please respond in writing so we can plan accordingly. If you have any
