Industrial Waste Landfill Annual Report
Dear Mr. Wagner:
Attached is the completed Industrial Landfill Annual Report form for Duke Energy’s Cliffside Steam
Station Coal Combustion Products (CCP) Landfill (Permit No. 81-06) for the past year (7/1/2013 to
6/30/2014).
The landfill only accepts waste from Duke Energy’s Cliffside Steam Station. A total of
approximately 331,892 tons of waste was received by the landfill during the most recent twelve-
month period. Since the landfill went into operation and through the most recent survey on April
16, 2014, approximately 499,303 cubic yards and 616,709 tons of waste have been disposed of in
the landfill.
As required by G.S. 130A-309.09D(b), the County Manager for any county that generated waste
for disposal to this landfill must be sent a copy of the Annual Report. The station lies on the
Rutherford/Cleveland County line. The Permit to Operate for the landfill references Rutherford
County. The waste reported in this annual report was received from Cleveland County, with a
small amount also receive from Gaston County. Copies of this Annual Report are provided to the
County Managers for Cleveland, Gaston, and Rutherford Counties.
