STATUS OF PERMIT:
Active permit issued January 24, 2013 and expires on May 3, 2017. No later than November 3, 2016 the owner or
operator must submit a request to the Division of Waste Management for permit review.
PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT:
Partial Facility Compliance Inspection
STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:

OBSERVED VIOLATIONS
None
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
1) Records were on site but not reviewed during this compliance inspection. This facility is using Town of
Edenton owned trucks for waste received.
2) The facility does not have a scale. Weights are recorded and provided by the East Carolina Regional Landfill.
3) The normal operating hours are M-F 8am to 5pm.
4) Private individuals or businesses are not allowed to dump at the facility.
5) The primary disposal site for this transfer facility is East Carolina Regional Landfill permit #08-03 in Bertie Co.
6) The service area is Chowan County.
7) The Certified Operators are: William B. Davidson, expires April 05, 2017. David W. Myers, expires October
19, 2019 and Eric N. Fooks, expires October 19, 2019, Lincoln Adams, expires May 25, 2019 and Mike
Winslow, expires May 25, 2019.
8) The area below the tipping floor has been graded so that runoff flows into a drain and not offsite.
9) Fire suppression is handled by two freeze proof fire hydrants and a single fire extinguisher mounted on the wall.
The fire extinguisher is charged.
10) Repairs have been conducted to the part of the walls noted in the last inspection. Looks good.
11) The tipping floor is in good condition.
12) Waste is direct dumped into a compactor.
13) The oil grit separator required in the Ops Plan consists of a baffled septic tank.
14) This site has proper signage with required information displayed.
15) Overall facility operated well.
16) Digital pictures taken.
