Dear Mr. Toepfer,
The Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section) has reviewed the Assessment
Work Plan (DIN 26954) for the Harris Nuclear Plant Industrial Landfill submitted on your behalf
by S&ME on October 28, 2016. The Section approves the Assessment Work Plan.
The Work Plan proposes to install two new monitoring wells (MW-8 and MW-9) to investigate
the extent of potential contamination in the fracture zones. The Work Plan is organized into
the following tasks:
• Soil borings and monitoring well installations
• Groundwater sampling and analyses
• Slug testing
• Reporting
