On October 25, 2016 the Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section (Section) received
Duke Energy’s request entitled;
Industrial Landfill No.1 Cells 3 and 4 Construction Modification Request, Permit No.: 1812-
INDUS, Marshall Steam Station, Catawba County, Terrell, North Carolina 28682. Prepared for
Duke Energy. Prepared by S&ME. October 2016. DIN 26904.
Duke Energy’s request outlines changes to the approved plans. The changes can be categorized
as being; more protective of the environment than originally proposed, minor changes that are as
protective as those originally proposed and notification of on-site material testing. The Section
has reviewed Duke Energy’s request and approves of the proposed changes. The Section requests
the approved changes be documented within the as-built construction drawings (as appropriate)
and be submitted with the Cells 3 & 4 construction quality assurance documentation.
