Excessive summer heat and prolonged dry conditions cause drought stress leading to increased fire danger.
Drought conditions combined with winds from summer thunderstorms can cause a fire to escape and spread
quickly. Always check predicted weather conditions for your area prior to burning. Be especially wary of high
winds. Remember storms can be unpredictable so a little precaution can go a long way towards protecting your
property.
