On September 29, 2016 the Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section)
received Duke Energy’s request for approval of the Phase II cover system (cap) modifications at
the Pine Hall Road Landfill, Permit No. 8503-INDUS-1984, entitled;

Belews Creek Pine Hall Rd Landfill, Belews Creek Steam Station, Stokes County, Belews Creek,

The Phase II cap modification request includes drawings of the proposed work and proposes to
use the previously approved, technical specifications and construction quality assurance plan
(DIN 25674). The Section has reviewed the request and approves the implementation of the plan
at this closed landfill.
