Excessive weeds & tall vegetation over the entire disposal field. This was previously noted on the last audit of 10/19/2015. Site has not been harvested in a timely fashion or weeds controlled as per the approved nutrient management plan. Land application has been occurring. Contact your extension agent/regional agronomist in regards to weed control. Harvest site in regards to 30 day waiting period after last septage application. Establish the cover crop as per the approved nutrient management plan so that land application may occur this winter. 2. .0838(a)(2) Each site shall be posted with “No Trespassing” signs. Access roads or paths crossing or leading to the disposal area shall be posted “No Trespassing” and a legible sign of at least two feet by two feet stating “Septage Land Application Site” shall be maintained at each entrance to the land application area. No apparent sign (No Trespassing/Septage Land Application Site) posted at the site entrance. If a sign was previously posted on Carteret road it is not useful at this time since Carteret road is washed out and the site has to be accessed from another direction. Unable to determine if adequate field markers are present due to tall vegetation. 2. Unable to determine if approved setbacks are being followed due to tall vegetation. 3. Unable to determine if septage discharges are within the permitted boundaries due to tall vegetation. 4. No apparent recent application. No odors noted. Older spray paths noted. 5. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
