Dear Mr. Sussman:
The Solid Waste Section has completed a review of the Limited Vapor Intrusion Assessment dated July 25,
2016 (DIN 26680) and submitted on behalf of the Wake County Public Schools System by Kleinfelder, Inc.
for the Oakview Elementary School Site. The closed Holly Springs Construction and Demolition (C&D)
Landfill, Solid Waste Permit 9214, is located to the north and northeast of the Oakview Elementary School.

Based upon the review of the Limited Vapor Intrusion Assessment, the Solid Waste Section is requesting
additional information. Please provide the following:
 Copies of the individual laboratory certifications for the summa canisters used in order to
determine if residues were present; and
 Conduct additional methane gas sampling to further delineate the methane gas detected within
locations SV-1, SV-7, and SV-8 in accordance with the Guidelines For Addressing Pre-Regulatory
Landfills and Dumps (https://ncdenr.s3.amazonaws.com/s3fs-public/Waste%20Management/
