Subject:Dunn Erwin Transfer Station Hopper Modifications and Closure, Permit # 4307T, DIN
26590
Hi Amada:
The Solid Waste Section (SWS) is noted that the metal hopper at the Harnett County (the County) Dunn-Erwin
Transfer Station, Permit No. 4307T-Transfer-1997 will be subjected to replacement on September 09, 2016. To
complete the task the County plans to cease waste transfer activities at the above-mentioned transfer station for
approximately two weeks. The SWS determines that the proposed activities at the transfer station is a routine
maintenance, and no permit action is required. The County may need to visibly post the facility closure notice
at the facility and to provide the general public advanced information through various mass media of the
scheduled temporary closure. Please contact me if you have any question. Thanks and have a wonderful
afternoon.

Subject: Dunn Erwin Transfer Station Hopper Modifications and Closure
Please find attached drawings showing our proposed improvements to the metal hopper at the Dunn Erwin Transfer
Station. The current hopper is damaged and too narrow. We are proposing to begin replacement of the hopper on
September 9, 2016. We propose to close the transfer station for two weeks for these modifications.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Amanda
