Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1. All photographs were taken by Troy Harrison on August 4, 2016. 2. A permit application was received on July 29, 2016 for the addition of one 30,000 gallon tank. This tank was previously permitted and inspected under Page’s Septic Tank Cleaning (SDTF-30-07). The additional tank was observed in place and completely above ground. No evidence of current or past leaks were observed. Additional work is to be done to provide access to the tanks. The current permitted Septage Detention and Treatment facility consist of one 5,000 gallon and three 20,000 gallon above ground metal tanks for storage and treatment of domestic septage, portable toilet waste, grease trap pumping, and commercial/industrial septage. The “new” 30,000 tanks is in the foreground 4. Appropriate signage was in place along access roads. 5. Vegetative growth was effectively controlled in the areas in front of the tanks. 6. All tanks at the facility appeared to be structurally sound and no leaks were observed. 7. Vectors were not present at the time of inspection nor were objectionable odors observed. Approved setbacks and buffers for the septage detention and treatment facility storage tanks appear to have been met. 9. There two additional storage tanks at the site that have been observed in previous inspection have been moved and the 30,000 gallon tank occupies their former position. The tanks were observed to be empty and located on the property.
