OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: NONE The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1. Signage present on both sides of the path as you get to the site. Lettering starting to fade on signs (see pictures below). Repaint or redo signs. If you redo the signs, they should read as “SEPTAGE LAND APP SITE NO TRESPASSING” instead of “SEWAGE.” 2. Access road is well maintained. 3. Markers were present and easily visible. The marker to the north-west corner of Field B was missing (see picture below). Need to replace marker. 4. All septage discharges appeared to be within the permitted boundaries of the fields. Field B had been receiving the septage applications recently. No applications to Field A. Field A had been cute for hay. 5. No spot dumps or thick applications noticed today. 6. Field A had been cut for hay. Tree had fallen down to the north side of Field B. Tree will need to be removed from the field and buffer area. 7. No application at time of inspection. pH not checked. 8. No objectionable odors noticed. 9. No change noticed that would affect setback distances. 10. Records not checked today. Signage to the left (Field A) side of the access road. Sign could use some freshening up.
