Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: 1.A Partial Inspection was conducted. 2.This is a “Type 1”composting operation. 3.The facility is open from 8:00am –4:00pm Monday through Saturday. 4.The signs displayed at the entrance to the facility are correct and contain the required information. 5.The facility grounds are secured so as to prevent unauthorized entry during off-hours. 6.Access roads are maintained for all-weather access. 7.Be sure to maintain a minimum of twenty-five feet between waste piles and compost windrows and ditches/swales. 8.Be sure to document all temperature data to ensure pathogen reduction (requires three consecutive days at or above 131 degrees Fahrenheit)on any material distributed to the public.
