Multiply peak seven day storage volume by the number of acres of active, intermediate, rain cover, and closed areas to obtain the peak seven day leachate generation for each condition evaluated. Determine the peak monthly leachate generation rates for active, intermediate, and closed areas using the HELP Model over a period of 5+ years. Take the peak monthly leachate generation rate, divide by 30, and multiply by 7 to obtain the anticipated peak seven day flow (gallons per acre) for active, intermediate, and closed areas. Adjust rain cover and intermediate area to reduce stormwater penetration and help size the necessasry storage. Assume “typical” operational conditions for each Phase (i.e. various areas of active, intermediate, and/or closed areas).
