Subject: Waste Stream Modification, Approval
Permit No. 1812-INDUS-2008, Duke Energy Marshall Steam Station
Catawba County, DIN 26272
Dear Ms. Hardin:
On June 15, 2016 the Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section) received
Duke Energy’s waste stream modification request for Permit No. 1812-INDUS-2008, entitled:
Industrial Landfill No.1 Waste Stream Modification, Permit No. 1812-INDUS, Marshall Steam
Station, Catawba County, Terrell, North Carolina 28682. Prepared by Duke Energy. June 2016.
DIN 26264.
The request concerns change to the list of materials that may be accepted by the landfill,
including; the addition of waste coal and changing the term “sand blast material” to “abrasive
blast material”, a more accurate description. The Section has reviewed the request and approves
the change in the operations plan as requested. Duke Energy will consider the request, referenced
above (DIN 26264), as an approved document. The next time Permit No. 1812-INDUS-2008 is
amended Duke Energy will provide the Section with an updated Operations Plan containing the
changes approved by this letter. The documents related to the change may be downloaded at
