Landfill Gas Monitoring Report - 2024 Fourth Quarter

Dear Mark:
LaBella Associates (LaBella) is submitting the attached methane monitoring results for Kirksey Drive
Landfill, Permit Number 12-01. The 2024 fourth quarter landfill gas monitoring event was
performed on October 29, 2024. During this event, LaBella monitored gas probes GP-1, GP-2, GP-3,
GP-4, GP-5, and GP-6, as well as the County Animal Shelter and the SPCA (Friends for Animals). The
approximate locations of the monitoring locations are depicted in Drawing 1. The monitoring data
for the gas probes and buildings are summarized in the attached Landfill Gas Monitoring Data Log.
Methane was detected above the lower explosive limit (LEL) in gas probes, GP-3 (35.6%), GP-4
(25.6%), and GP-6 (53.3%). Methane was not detected in any other gas probes or structures.
Methane detections and LEL exceedances are summarized in the attached Tabie 1 and Tabie 2,
respectively. The exceedances in GP-3, GP-4, and GP-6 are consistent with previous results.
We have included a NCDEQ Environmental Monitoring Report Form (EMRF) and will forward a copy of
this report to NCDEQ Solid Waste Section. A copy of this report should be maintained in the facility's
records. The next quarterly monitoring event is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. If we can
