STATUS OF PERMIT:
Inactive closed site. The Permit for Closure, issued April 8, 2015, allows for the collection of yard waste, scrap tires and
white goods. The Permit for Closure states that the operations plan should be review every five years from the issuance
of the Permit for Closure.
PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT:
Compliance inspection
STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
None.
NOTICE OF VIOLATIONS:
None.
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The facility is fenced and is secured by a locking gate when it is not open for operations.
2. The correct signage is at the entrance of the facility listing the facility name, permit number and emergency contact
information as well as materials accepted at the facility.
3. The facility accepts yard waste, white goods, electronics, and scrap tires Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1630
and Saturday from 0800 to 1200.

4. Some small woody vegetation was observed within the drainage swales along the side slopes. Overgrown vegetation
and tall grasses were observed throughout the closed MSWLF. The facility should be mown as often as necessary
to allow for proper inspection.
5. No areas of standing water or subsidence were observed during this inspection. Continue to monitor the closed
MSWLF and repair areas as needed.
6. Edge of waste markers were observed around the Closed MSWLF.
Yard Waste
7. The yard waste area consisted of two large static piles. It is recommended that the yard waste be windrowed to
allow for additional drainage and accessibility for fire fighting vehicles.
8. No areas of standing water were observed throughout the yard waste area. Continue to monitor and grade the
yard waste area as needed to continue to shed water from the yard waste storage area and ensure that
leachate is contained on -site.
9. Some unacceptable wastes were observed within the yard waste area. The unacceptable wastes are removed from
the waste stream as they are encountered and properly disposed of. Continue to monitor incoming loads and
remove any unacceptable waste as needed.
10. The yard waste piles were accessible on all sides.
White Goods and Scrap Tire Area
11. The large concrete pad for the white goods and scrap tires was in good condition and properly sloped to prevent
ponding water.
12. The white goods were upright and neatly stored on the concrete pad. The refrigerants are removed by the contractor.
13. The electronics are palletized and wrapped prior to transportation to the recycler.
14. Scrap tires are stored at the opposite end of the concrete pad from the white goods. The scrap tires are picked up
once or twice a week.
15. Digital photographs were taken during the inspection.
