Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violationof the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. Page 1 of 2 Oepartmenl o� Envimnmental0uali� ADDITIONAL COMMENTS FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section 1) Currently this facility is permitted for one 8,000-gallon steel tank and one 10,000-gallon steel tank for the storage of domestic and grease septage. Both tanks are above ground. The two tanks had been moved to the designated area for the proposed dewatering facility. No septage activity has occurred in this area. The permit will need to be modified prior to any dewatering or the used of any of the unpermitted tanks for storage of septage. Items needed for the permit modification are: ➢ anew SDTF application. ➢ final site drawings with a PE stamp. ➢ a signed operation manual explainingthe process. ➢ a leak test (signed by a PE) for any buried or partially buried tanks or lines. ➢ a disposal authorization for solids going to a landfill or compost site. The liquid is proposed to be land applied on the SLAS. ➢ A pre -operational inspection will be required when the treatment facility is completed and prior to the new permit being issued. 2) "No Trespassing" signs present as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(k). 3) Access road to tanks is in good shape as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(b). 4) Tank accessible for inspection. 5) The two currently permitted metal tanks appeared to be empty. No leaks noticed. 6) Facility not in use. No septage spills noticed. 7) No vector or odor issues noticed as covered within Rules 15A NCAC 13B .0838(e)(2) and .0838(g).
