OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: NONE The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violationof the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit; or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. Page 1 of 2 FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT ��n1��;poii� D_E Q�� Division of Waste Management OepaNmen f Envimnmental0ualiry Solid Waste Section ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1) This facility consists of thirteen (13) above ground steel tanks for with a total capacity of 190,000 gallons for the storage of domestic septage, grease trap pumpings, portable toilet waste, and commercial/industrial septage. This facility dewaters the septage to separate the solids from the liquid. The liquid is land applied on septage land application site, SLAS-98-08. The solids are composted. 2) "No Trespassing" signage present along access roads to the facility. 3) The access road to the detention facility was in good shape. 4) Tank accessible for inspection. No debris or vegetation blocking the tank from being inspected as per Rule 15A NCAC 13B .0838(i). 5) Most of the steel and plastic tanks appeared to be structurally sound. Tanks # 7 and #2 are no longer in use. Daniel said that they plan to replace both tanks. Replacing a tank with a like tank does not require a permit modification however, the tank must be inspected prior to use. If differenttype (size, make, etc.) of tank is going to be used to replace a tank then, an application for permit modification must be submitted. 6) The polymer system has been modified some. 7) Septage transfers to and from the facility appear to comply with the Septage Rules. No septage spills noticed. 8) No odor or vector issues noticed. 9) No issues noticed with setback distances. 10) Obtain records from Daniel. Records under review for permit renewal.
