Dear Gene:

On behalf of JBS (formerly Swift & Co), Hart & Hickman, PC (H&H) is providing the attached
documentation for the abandonment of accessible monitoring and remediation wells at the
former Mapelli Brothers site following the recent issuance of the final risk-based No Further
Action letter by NC DEQ. H&H has attached the well abandonment records and a photolog
documenting the abandonments. Monitoring well MW-5 could not be abandoned because it had
been previously removed or covered. MW-5 could not be located using a metal detector.

Hey Gene,

Per our telephone discussion yesterday, certain remedia on wells at the Mapelli site are under pavement and are not
accessible. However, when the remedia on system equipment was previoulsy removed, the remedia on well pipes
were capped. Let me know if you have addi onal ques ons.

I look at the site map of 3/31/2021 Letter Report and 7/29/2020 GW sampling report.
We do not have report showing AS and VE wells have been abandoned.

Did you see any these wells during your abandonment activities?
