MG-24 is located along the western facility boundary and methane has not been detected above the lower explosive limit during the last two years of landfill gas monitoring. A renewable natural gas (RNG) facility is proposed to be constructed immediately west of the landfill unit. The proposed location for the RNG facility requires the abandonment of MG-24. S+G proposes to abandon MG-24 during the third quarter of this year and will subsequently submit a revised Landfill Gas Monitoring Plan for Section review and approval. The Section approves the landfill gas monitoring well abandonment request and MG-24 should be abandoned in accordance with 15A NCAC 02C .0113(d).
