Dear Mr. Waters,
The NC Division of Waste Management received your notice of cease operation to close the
Septage Detention & Treatment Facility (permit #SDTF 36-14) located on 875 West Main Ave. in
Gaston County. The effective cease operation date was April 31, 2023 and the storage tank was
moved to a new location with a new permit (SDTF-36-17) being issued.
As of this date, permit #SDTF 36-14 (at the location on 875 West Main Ave.) has been closed
out. If in the future you wish to obtain a permit for a septage facility or land application site, please
contact this office to initiate the permitting process. Use of a septage facility or land application site
that is not permitted may result in administrative penalties up to $15,000 per violation in
accordance with NC General Statute 130A-22.

Subject: SDTF-36-14 Closure
In early 2023, Royal Restrooms of Gastonia moved locations from 902 W Main
Ave, Gastonia, NC 28052 to 1404 Bessemer City -Kings Mountain Hwy,
Bessemer City, NC 28016. The storage tank was moved from the old location to
the new location and a pre -operation inspection was conducted on March 20,
2023; a new permit, SDTF-36-17, was issued for the new location following the
inspection. The location of the original permit, SDTF-36-14, was turned into a
baseball stadium and the permit will be closed.
