Under requirements listed in 15A NCAC 13B .1402 GENERAL PROVISIONS FOR SOLID WASTE COMPOST FACILITIES (g) (3)(A) a site such as this being operated by Weldon is classified as a small type I compost facility, and is permitted to receive only yard waste which is defined in NCGS 130A-290 as stumps limbs, leaves, grass, and untreated/unpainted.wood. Coal ash does not meet the definition of yard waste and is not acceptable to be received in a yard waste site. If you have any further question, please contact me at 919 571 4700.
