Landfill Gas Monitoring Report - 2024 Second Quarter

Dear Mark:
LaBella Associates (LaBella) is submitting the attached methane monitoring results for Kirksey Drive
Landfill, Permit Number 12-01. The 2024 second quarter landfill gas monitoring event was
performed on May 8, 2024. During this event, LaBella monitored gas probes GP-1, GP-2, GP-3,
GP-4, GP-5, and GP-6, as well as the animal shelter, SPCA (Friends for Animals), and National Guard
Building. The approximate locations of the monitoring locations are depicted in Drawing 1. The
monitoring data for the gas probes and buildings are summarized in the attached Landfill Gas
Monitoring Data Log.
Methane was detected above the lower explosive limit (LEL) in gas probes, GP-3 (38.2%), GP-4
(43.4%), and GP-6 (56.1%). Methane was not detected in any other gas probes or structures.
Methane detections and LEL exceedances are summarized in the attached Table 1 and Tabie 2,
respectively. The exceedances in GP-3, GP-4, and GP-6 are consistent with previous results.
We have included a NCDEQ Environmental Monitoring Report Form (EMRF) and will forward a copy of
this report to Jaclynne Drummond with the NCDEQ Solid Waste Section. A copy of this report should
be maintained in the facility's records. The next quarterly monitoring event is scheduled for the third
quarter of 2024. If we can provide any additional information, please do not hesitate to call me at
