Dear Mr. Jim Coffey:
Duke Power Company requests final closure approval for the Lincoln CT landfill, permit
number 55-A. Lincoln CT placed the last waste in the landfill on March 4, 1996. At that
time the landfill was closed in accordance with the regulatory requirements. The landfill
area was covered with adequate soil cover, adequately sloped to allow surface water
runoff in a controlled manner with out excessive on -site erosion and off -site siltation, and
seeded with native grasses. The cover soil depth was tested and verified to be a
minimum of 2 feet. The vegetative cover is well established and all necessary erosion
control measures are in place. On May 23, 1996 Anthony Foster (DEHNR regional
specialist) performed the final closure inspection. There were no violations or
improvements required per the inspection (inspection form attached). If you have
