Dear Mr. Clark:
It was recently noted that a Notice of Regulatory Requirements was not submitted following receipt of the
July 21, 2022, Monitoring Report. For current ground water data and additional assessment needs, this
office requests the following:
• Vertical soil profile data using direct push. The objective is to determine the vertical thickness of
contaminant mass needing treatment in the isolated GCL plume area. We believe up to 3-4 direct
push points would be sufficient with soil samples collected from the unsaturated and saturated
smear zones (hottest samples using PID) with the bottom sample representing where detections are
decreasing to near action limits. The soil samples should be analyzed using UVF and the data is to
be included into the site cross sections along with the monitoring wells to better illustrate the
horizontal and vertical mass needing treatment.
• Conduct a receptor survey update. This office was made aware of a possible potable well being
used at 407 Sunset Park Road that needs verification, and
• Conduct a limited ground water sampling event using MW-11, MW-14, MW-15. MW-16, MW-17
& MW-18.
This work should be submitted in a Monitoring Report and is due on or before January 15, 2024. If you
have any questions regarding trust fund eligibility or reimbursement from the Commercial Leaking
Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund, please contact the UST Section Trust Fund Branch
