(MESCO). The request was submitted in accordance with memorandums issued by the Section on March 13, 2023, and July 17, 2023, related to PFAS monitoring guidance. MESCO has proposed to analyze groundwater samples from all monitoring wells for PFAS during the next two consecutive semiannual monitoring events except for assessment wells P-17, P-18, P- 19, P-21, and two midstream surface water sample locations SW-2 and SW-5. Surface water location SW-5 should be analyzed for PFAS, but SW-4 can be excluded. Based on the results of the initial monitoring event, the Section may require PFAS analysis of P-17, P-18, P-19, P-21 groundwater samples during the second monitoring event in lieu of MW-6S, MW-6D, and MW-7 to confirm the absence or presence of PFAS at the compliance boundary.
