Walker Burgaw, NC 28425 Re: Landfill Gas Monitoring Plan Pender County Landfill Permit# 7102-MSWLF-1984 FID 1835355 Dear Mr. Andrews: The Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section (Section) is aware that landfill gas monitoring has not been conducted at the facility and in accordance with an April 30th, 2024, meeting with County personnel, a landfill gas monitoring plan should be submitted to the Section for review and approval. The Landfill Gas monitoring plan should consist of a site map displaying the estimated limits of waste in relation to the proposed landfill gas monitoring well locations. In accordance with Section policy, the wells should not be more than 500 feet apart and the number of proposed wells should provide adequate coverage to detect potential landfill gas. Proposed monitoring well construction and sampling methodology should reflect language used in the Section’s Landfill Gas Monitoring Guidance Document.
