ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The facility has been closed since 2008. A Post Closure plan was approved in August of 2009. The purpose of this visit was to inspect the Bladen County facilities, including the CDLF. The site was walked by Mr. Kip McClary and Mr. Lou Krasuski, from Smith Gardner, with Section staff. The site is gated with
signage and behind the NLCIDLF. 2. Site has been mostly mowed and EOW markers were in place, good job. 3. Please evaluate and make repairs to any recently eroded or damaged areas, especially the heavily washed-out area roughly in the center of the northern slope. Remind Contractor to avoid mowing when site conditions are such that it may damage the cap. In addition, please confirm the location of any monitoring wells along the SE side of the property by the walking/biking trails to ensure they are properly marked and protected.
