Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance With the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. Pagel of 3 NORTH CARnLINAD_E Q�� o.n.mm.m m c.w.mmen.i a.i� ADDITIONAL COMMENTS FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section 1) This facility consists of two partially buried 10,000 gallon steel tanks for a total site capacity of 20,000 gallons for the storage and treatment of domestic septage and commercial/industrial septage. 2) At the time of inspection, the tanks had been moved to the far side of the adjacent field. Following the inspection Ms. Williams spoke with V & S Septic Service, who was unaware that the tanks had been moved. There is an ongoing dispute between V & S Septic Service and the current property owner regarding the storage tanks. 3) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(b): An all-weather access road is maintained. 4) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(c): Upon inspection, one hole was noted in one of the tanks. If the tanks are to be put into use again, they should be thoroughly inspected and any holes or cracks must be repaired. 5) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(e)(2) and 15A NCAC 13B .0838(g): No vector or odor issues were noted. 6) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(i): A significant amount of debris was noted within 5 feet of the tanks. The tanks are not currently in use. 7) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(k): Proper signage was not noted at the time of inspection. The tanks are not currently in use. 8) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(m): At the time of inspection the tanks were not in the location they are permitted for.
