1) This facility consists of two partially buried 10,000 gallon steel tanks for a total site capacity of 20,000
gallons for the storage and treatment of domestic septage and commercial/industrial septage.
2) At the time of inspection, the tanks had been moved to the far side of the adjacent field. Following the
inspection Ms. Williams spoke with V & S Septic Service, who was unaware that the tanks had been moved.
There is an ongoing dispute between V & S Septic Service and the current property owner regarding the
storage tanks.
3) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(b): An all-weather access road is maintained.
4) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(c): Upon inspection, one hole was noted in one of the tanks. If the tanks are to be
put into use again, they should be thoroughly inspected and any holes or cracks must be repaired.
5) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(e)(2) and 15A NCAC 13B .0838(g): No vector or odor issues were noted.
6) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(i): A significant amount of debris was noted within 5 feet of the tanks. The tanks are
not currently in use.
7) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(k): Proper signage was not noted at the time of inspection. The tanks are not
currently in use.
8) 15A NCAC 13B .0838(m): At the time of inspection the tanks were not in the location they are permitted
for. The tanks are not currently in use and setback requirements were not evaluated for the current location.
9) If any portion is buried it needs to be leak tested
