(GRI) presents the results of the ground water sampling event at the Nic’s Pic Kwik #9 site in Laurinburg, Scotland County, North Carolina. The activities were conducted in response to the October 6, 2023, correspondence from NCDEQ. On October 25, 2023, two monitoring wells (MW-4R and MW-9) were gauged purged and sampled per NCDEQ guidelines. Depths to ground water for MW-4R and MW-9 were 13.42 and 13.93 feet below the tops of well casings, respectively. No free product was observed during the October 2023 ground water sampling event. Ground water samples were submitted for analyses of VOCs by EPA Method 602 and semi-VOCs + 10 highest tentatively identifiable compounds using EPA Method 625. A Site Location Map and Site Map from the previous consultant have been included as Figures 1 and 2. Please see the attached laboratory report for the results of the October 2023 ground water sampling event. A concentration 2-methylnaphthalene that exceeded the Maximum Allowable Concentration as specified in T15A NCAC 2L.0202 was reported in the ground water sample collected from MW-9. None of the reported contaminant concentrations exceeded the GCLs. A copy of the laboratory report is attached. Please contact me at 704-698-1253 or wlr@geologicalresourcesinc.com with any questions or comments.
