Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. All photographs were taken by Lee Hill on January 18, 2024. 2. Cessation of groundwater monitoring was approved by the Groundwater Compliance Unit on June 18, 2002. 3. The landfill had well established vegetative cover, maintained by staff through regular mowing. No woody vegetation was noted on the landfill cap during the inspection, and although a section of the landfill had a light dusting of snow, the vegetation remained visible. 4. The landfill cap had positive drainage, and no ponding was observed. 5. All groundwater monitoring wells were observed to be locked and free of vegetation. 6. The trees and vegetation surrounding the landfill appear healthy and unaffected, showing no signs of distress or negative impact from the disposal site. 7. During the inspection, ending post -closure care was discussed. If the facility wishes to pursue ending post - closure care, please contact Christine Ritter, Compliance Hydrogeologist to discuss the necessary steps.
