RE: Long-Term Groundwater Monitoring Report for FTBR-069 (SWMU 69) – Spring 2023
Dear Mr. Humphrey:
The Federal Remediation Branch (FRB) in the North Carolina Division of Waste Management (Division)
received the Long-Term Groundwater Monitoring Report for FTBR-069 (SWMU 69) on May 25, 2023. The
Division has the following additional comment/recommendation(s):
•Recommend reducing sampling frequency to every 5 years and only for wells MW-6, MS-17S,
MS-18D, and MS-19D.
•If the results of the next sampling event show all COCs are below the 15A NCAC 02L groundwater
limit, 4 consecutive samples can be taken to request site closure (all samples being below the 02L
limit). A surface water sample may be required prior to site closure.
