Harmony Grocery 1818 Mt. Harmony Church Road Rougemont, Person County, North Carolina NCDEQ Incident No: 3831 ECS Project: 49:3051-B Dear Mr. Petermann: As authorized by your acceptance of ECS Southeast, LLP (ECS) Task Authorization Request Number (TAR No. 2) dated November 17, 2017, ECS has completed the Letter Report of groundwater sampling for the above referenced site. On November 21, 2017, ECS collected a field blank and a groundwater sample from water supply well WSW-2 (Bradsher Well) (Figures 1 and 2). Prior to collecting the groundwater sample from WSW-2, ECS met with Mr. Clifton Bradsher and obtained a signed water supply well permission letter. The signed letter is attached. ECS collected the groundwater sample from water supply well WSW-2 by opening the spigot attached to the water supply well for three to five minutes, thus allowing the groundwater to purge from the water supply well. After, ECS collected the groundwater samples from the spigot into sample containers provided by the laboratory. Prior to beginning groundwater sampling activities, ECS collected the field blank by pouring DI water (analyte-free water prepared at the laboratory and included in the sampling kit), at the sampling site into the appropriate laboratory prepared sample containers. The sample containers were labeled with ECS project number, sample identification, sample date and time, and requested analytical analysis. The containers were placed into protective packaging material and placed into a cooler with ice to maintain the samples at approximately 4 Celsius (C). The samples were submitted to Pace Laboratories, Inc. located in Huntersville, North Carolina for chemical analysis for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) using Standard Method 6200B. ECS maintained proper chain of custody (COC) procedures throughout the sample collection and transportation process. The laboratory did not report targeted analytes at concentrations above the laboratory reporting limits in the groundwater sample collected from water supply well WSW-2 or the field blank. The laboratory analytical data sheets and COC are attached. SOURCE: USGS TOPOGRAPHIC MAP MORIAH & TIMBERLAKE NORTH CAROLINA QUADRANGLE DATED 2016 SCALE: 1 : 24,000 FIGURE 1 SITE LOCATION MAP MT. HARMONY DEFINITIONS DF - Dilution Factor, if reported, represents the factor applied to the reported data due to dilution of the sample aliquot. ND - Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit. TNTC - Too Numerous To Count J - Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit. MDL - Adjusted Method Detection Limit. PQL - Practical Quantitation Limit. RL - Reporting Limit. S - Surrogate 1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270. The result for each analyte isa combined concentration. Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate % recovery and RPD values. LCS(D) - Laboratory Control Sample (Duplicate) MS(D) - Matrix Spike (Duplicate) DUP - Sample Duplicate RPD - Relative Percent Difference NC - Not Calculable. SG - Silica Gel - Clean-Up U - Indicates the compound was analyzed for, but not detected. Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether.
