Stanforth, P.E., DEE Groundwater Monitoring Report December 30, 2020 (Former) SERVCO No. 01612 Incident No. 8097 Charlotte, North Carolina Excel No. 22117 EXCEL CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATES, PLLC  www.excelengr.com  PROJECT SUMMARY Groundwater quality samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 on December 3rd and 4th, 2020. The samples were analyzed for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 6200B, ethylene dibromide (EDB) by EPA Method 504.1, and Lead by EPA Method 3030C. During the site visit, monitoring well MW-102 were found to be dry and MW-6 was not located. No free product was observed during the sampling event, therefore samples were collected accordingly. It is Excel’s standard operating procedure not to gauge monitoring wells with an oil-water interface probe prior to sampling if said well has not historically shown free product. Static water levels were collected with a decontaminated water level indicator at the locations of all other monitoring wells which were sampled. The results of the laboratory analysis from the December 2020 sampling event indicate that none of the samples exceeded Gross Contamination Levels (GCLs) for all constituents analyzed. Review of current liquid level data indicates that groundwater is flowing from south to north. CONCLUSIONS / RECOMMENDATIONS At this time, we recommend continued monitoring and free product recovery as necessary utilizing bio-socks until cleanup levels are met for at the site. (GMA) of Cary, North Carolina. Samples collected during closure activities revealed elevated levels of hydrocarbons. Free product was observed in monitoring well MW-2 in August 1992 by GMA. Since that date free product recovery efforts have been conducted at the site by hand bailing observable free product in monitoring well MW-2 and MW-6. As of August 2002 approximately 107-gallons of product-water mixture had been recovered from MW-2 with 0.09-gallons of product-water mixture recovered from MW-6. GENERAL GEOLOGY: The subject site is located in the Inner Piedmont Physiographic Province. This area of the Inner Piedmont consists of metamorphic rocks including mica schist, biotitic schist, and gneiss. Milestones are defined in the CAP. Label column headers with a representative title (‘Active Y1’, ‘MNA Yr 5’ etc.) Add sheets/columns as needed to more effectively track progress. 2. Calculate the measured mass for each unit by multiplying the analytical result by the representative volume (weight, pore space, etc.). (See https://www3.epa.gov/region02/rcra/ra2.pdf) 3. Calculate removed amounts based on excavation screening and/or system effluent monitoring, multiplied by total volume excavated or the system throughput during that period. Interim Reporting Tables 18 4. Where measured from sampling/screening in situ, use the total Measured Mass. Where not screened (or if not representative), use prior Total Mass less current Total Mass Removed. 5. This equals the % reduction from the prior mass (current Total Mass ÷ prior Total Mass). Very large negative values may indicate a new contribution and may require investigation. 6. This equals the current mass reduction % progress (1 - (Revised Total Mass ÷ Applicable Milestone)). Zero or positive values indicate that the associated milestone has been reached EXCEL CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATES, PLLC www.excelengr.com APPENDIX C - LABORATORY ANALYSES & CHAIN OF CUSTODY FORMS ANALYTICAL REPORT December 15, 2020 Excel Civil & Environmental Associates Sample Delivery Group:L1293432 Samples Received:12/05/2020 Project Number:22117 Description:Servco 01612 Report To:Mr. Mike Stanforth 625 Huntsman Court Gastonia, NC 28054 Entire Report Reviewed By: December 15, 2020 [Preliminary Report] Heather J Wagner Project Manager Results relate only to the items tested or calibrated and are reported as rounded values.
