On May 3, 2022, the Division of Waste Management’s Underground Storage Tank Section, Mooresville Regional Office, received the Groundwater Monitoring Report for the above-referenced incident. This information has been reviewed
and will remain in the UST Section’s files. Per the submitted schedule, the approved corrective action will be implemented over the summer of 2022. Groundwater samples should be collected quarterly for the first year, and semi-annually thereafter. The first groundwater sampling event should be conducted in December 2022, assuming that the system is operational by
August 2022, with the results received by this office within 30 days of sample collection. The groundwater samples must be submitted to a North Carolina certified laboratory for the appropriate analyses as set forth in the UST Section’s Assessment Guidelines. In addition, a Corrective Action Performance Report must be submitted at the end of each quarter of system operation. The first report must be received no later than the January 31, 2023.
