Dear Mr. Kelly:
Please find attached the analytical results for the rinse blank prepared from the
decontaminated augers used to install the wells at the Warren County Landfill. The
augers were cleaned after drilling in the landfill, in accordance with S&ME's Work Plan.
After completing a final rinse of the augers, an aliquot of organic free water was poured
over several of the cleaned augers. Water draining off of the augers was captured in
laboratory-prepared glass containers. The containers were labeled and placed on ice to
chill pending overnight shipment to Paradigm Analytical Laboratory under Chain-of-
Custody handling protocol.
The rinse blank sample was analyzed for PCBs by Method SW846-8080. The analysis
detected no PCBs congeners above the method detection limits. The analytical report and
Chain-of-Custody are attached to this letter. The results confirm that the augers were
cleaned satisfactorily to preclude the carryover or possible release of any PCB-containing
materials during subsequent use of the augers.
