OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
None.
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

1. The facility is a closed, unlined MSW landfill that ceased accepting waste in October 1993.
2. The facility is secured by perimeter fencing and natural topography with site access controlled by locking gates.
3. The landfill side slopes were observed to be in good condition with no evidence of erosion observed. Facility
staff stated that the landfill mowing has been conducted by facility staff this year and that a few areas are still in
need of maintenance.
4. No evidence of leachate seeps was found at the time of the inspection.
5. Vegetative cover was observed to be well -established throughout the site.
6. The landfill cap was in good condition with no ponding water observed at the time of the inspection. Storm
water control devices appeared to be functional and in good condition.
7. Small trees and woody vegetation were observed in a vertical line located along the installed slope drain. Please
ensure that all trees and woody vegetation are removed from the landfill.
8. Edge of waste markers were observed to be in place at the time of the inspection.
9. The facility conducts groundwater monitoring semiannually, as required.
10. Groundwater monitoring wells were observed during the inspection and found to be locked and properly labeled
with the required information.
