David Powell met with Moore County staff to conduct a comprehensive inspection. Roads were of all-weather construction and the site was fenced and gated. Edge of Waste (EOW) markers were in place. Site was well mowed. Good job. Moore County Landfill entrance. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 3 of 6 2. The facility had much spread last visit, and it has since been spread out thinner and worked into soil. The site looks good and has been grassed. Good job, please continue to be proactive and diligent. 3. Inspector and staff road along around perimeter of Closed MSW along main access road. Flare system looked good. FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 5 of 6 Flare system 4. Some wells were visited around the Closed MSW as well. Wells consisted of GP-21, GP-20, and BD-1. Locks and identification tags were in place and structure looked well maintained. Maintain vents and fill any sinking areas with soil as needed. GP-20 BD-1 FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 6 of 6 5. Recommend that the perimeter of the facility outside the EOW be inspected for seeps or releases more than usual. This is a part of the weekly checklist Mr. Lambert created previously. Be sure to not be counterproductive with big equipment with wet soil conditions on top the closed MSW. Do not damage the cap.
