Dear Mr. Newton:

This letter is to request an extension for the submission of the pilot study for the above referenced site. The
Correction Action Feasibility Study approved In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) via vertical injection points as
the remedial technology to eliminate free product and lower contaminant concentrations in ground water at
the site. In correspondence from NCDEQ dated June 19, 2023, the pilot study was directed to be completed
by October 19, 2023. Deep Earth Technologies, Inc., the contractor who is supplying the injectant (Cool-Ox®),
is scheduled to conduct the injections October 23 through October 31. GRI can submit a summary report of
the pilot study by November 15.
