The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The facility is a notified land clearing and inert debris (LCID) landfill. The disposal area for the notified LCID
landfill shall remain under two (2) acres.

2. The gate was damaged and not locked at the time of this inspection. It is recommended that a gate be installed
closer to Hwy 903, if allowed, to help deter damage to the gate and unauthorized access.
3. A large pile of pile of concrete was identified near the center of the LCID. The pile was identified to not have
been covered with soil, however, overgrown vegetation was observed growing on the pile. Unacceptable wastes
such as plastic corrugated drainage pipe, PVC pipe, and other plastic debris were identified within the waste
stream. The unacceptable wastes must be removed as they are encountered. The waste must also be covered with
a minimum of 6 inches of soil monthly or when the working face reaches one acre, whichever occurs first.
4. The side slopes were identified to be close to the 3 horizontal to 1 vertical slope ratio. Ensure that the side slopes
are covered and graded to meet the 3 horizontal to 1 vertical ratio.
5. Overgrown vegetation was observed throughout the facility. The overgrown vegetation should be removed as
often as necessary to allow for proper maintenance and inspection.
6. Digital pictures were taken during the inspection.
7. Corrective measures are necessary at this facility. Measures to bring the facility into compliance must be
completed within 30 days of receipt of this report. The Solid Waste Section will conduct a follow-up
inspection in 30 days to ensure issues noted in this inspection report have been addressed.
