GARRETT Epp o'/2 & MOORE Engineering for the Power and Waste Industries February 241h, 2023 Ms. Jackie Drummond North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section 1646 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1614 RE: Landfill Gas Monitoring Report 1st Quarter Sampling Event of 2023 Granville County — Butner Closed MSW Landfill Permit # 39-02 Dear Ms. Drummond: Attached please find the Landfill Gas Monitoring Log and Gas Probe Location Map for the 1 st quarter monitoring event that occurred on February 24th, 2023, at the Granville County Butner Landfill (Permit number 39-02) for inclusion in your records. Methane was detected in GP-4 above the LEL during this event. Methane was detected in GP-5, but below the LEL during this event. No action is recommended at this time. No other locations indicated explosive gas concentrations in excess of the associated action levels. Additionally, hydrogen sulfide was not detected in any monitored location during this event. Landfill gas monitoring will continue on a quarterly basis for the Butner Landfill. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 919-792-1904. Sincerely, Garrett & Moore, Inc.
