A completed Yard Waste Notification Facility Renewal Form must be submitted to the Solid Waste Section on or before 1 June 2024. PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: Comprehensive Facility Compliance Inspection STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: None applicable OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: No violations were observed during this facility compliance inspection; please see the ADDITIONAL COMMENTS section below for details concerning this inspection. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 1) This facility is a Yard Waste Facility Notification under two acres in size. 2) This facility is permitted to receive “Type I” waste as defined in GS 130A-290 as yard trash and land clearing debris which includes stumps, limbs, leaves, grass, and untreated wood. 3) This facility can receive the aforementioned wastes for processing and storage in volumes not greater than 6,000 cubic yards of waste and finished material per three-month period. 4) The land on which this facility is located is described in the deed recorded with the Beaufort County Register FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section YWN07003_INSP_20230928 Page 2 of 2 of deeds at: Book #1739; Page #356. 5) The hours of operation for this facility are as needed by the facility operator. 6) The access road to the facility is of all-weather construction and is currently being managed properly. 7) This site is secured from unauthorized entry by a locked gate at the facility entrance. The gate was closed and locked upon my arrival. 8) Wood chips from tree trimming and removal services have been brought on site for temporary storage. All ground wood chips are removed from the site periodically for use as boiler fuel. 9) Less than six thousand cubic yards of processed vegetative waste was observed on-site during this facility compliance inspection. 10) The waste type was reviewed; no unpermitted waste types were observed on site during this facility compliance inspection. 11) All waste setbacks and buffers are currently being maintained as required. 12) No off-site erosion was observed during this facility compliance inspection. 13) No windblown debris was observed during this facility compliance inspection. 14) Nutrient containing runoff was observed leaching from the chip storage piles onto the paved storage area. *Measures should be taken to restrict the flow of this nutrient containing runoff and to maintain it on the paved storage area. 15) *Corrective measures are required as a result of this facility compliance inspection.
