HomeMy WebLinkAboutFw: [External] FW: FY23 -Landfill - State Reporting ProblemHi Geof,
I made a note of what Mark has stated in the below email on the annual report. I am forwarding this in case you need the monthly break down of tonnages from the attached spreadsheet
for the Solid Waste Annual Report, since a few tons would be missing from their waste data tab's monthly breakdown.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Summer, we have looked into the discrepancies in the volume leaving our transfer station vs. arriving for disposal at Foothills Environmental at Caldwell Co. It appears that during the
months of March, April, and May the trucks leaving our transfer station, due to traffic being backed up at our one scale that handles incoming and outgoing traffic, were not getting
weighed. We have addressed this matter with the drivers and scale house staff and stress the importance of accounting for all tonnage leaving our transfer station by weighing out when
they leave. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Mark,
Attached is a comparison file for the Landfill. This compares the tonnage on truck hauling trash out of the Burke Co Landfill versus tonnage being weighed in at Caldwell Co Landfill
thru Foothills Environmental. We had 3 months, March, April, and May that had the largest differences. After submitting report to the state at the end of July, the state has questioned
why we had such a large difference.
David Ingram and I call “Duck” with the hauler for the Transfer Station trash. He confirmed that he is required to go across the scales at Caldwell Co, but that they do by-pass the scales
a lot at Burke Co. We told Duck that going forward his trucks have to cross the scales at Burke Co before they leave. They can no longer by-pass our scales. Hopefully, this will correct
the issue for future reporting and get any tonnage difference at a minimum number.
Thanks
